Dr. Alice Mills:  
 
Originally from Springfield, OH, Dr. Mills graduated from The Ohio State University with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Animal Nutrition with special emphasis in feline nutrition in 1977 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1983.  During college, she supported herself by working at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Columbus Zoo, and Lion Country Safari at Kings Island.  Her graduate research involved digestibility studies with lions and tigers at Kings Island.

After graduation from veterinary college, she practiced in Detroit, MI at Westcott Hospital for Animals but her heart was in feline medicine.  A year later, she moved to Chicago, IL to practice at the Chicago Cat Clinic and to pursue her dream of becoming a feline practitioner.  Dr. Barbara Stein, an internationally recognized feline practitioner, was the owner of the Chicago Cat Clinic and served as mentor to Dr. Mills.

She served on the American Association of Feline Practitioners Board of Directors-1999 to 2003 and remains a member, was a Founding Fellow and Past Secretary/Treasurer of the Academy of Feline Medicine, and is a member of the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  She most recently became a Founding Fellow of the International Association of Cat Doctors.

Dr. Mills has published many articles and lectured on feline medicine and dentistry and has served as a consultant to industry on feline medicine and parasite issues.
